Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso

Vine from the great family of Refosco, Refosco Nostrano has always spread throughout the Friuli, especially in the province of Udine. With the spread of the noble grape varieties such as Cabernet and Merlot, the grape went almost disappearing. The first traces of its cultivation are located in the municipalities of Torreano and Faedis, but the origins of the grape still remain uncertain. The northernmost area of ​​DOC Friuli Eastern Hills has been recognized sub-zone of the wine produced from grapes of Refosco Nostrano, the "Refosco of Faedis". Color: ruby ​​red with violet hues, tending to garnet with aging. Bouquet: slightly herbaceous with hints of dried plum and blackberry. The original nuance, which bears testimony to the absolute authenticity, is represented by the evident minerality. Taste: slightly grassy, ​​fruity, enhances feelings of freshness and tannins.
